Ground-breaking Qatar Self Sufficiency Exhibition 2018 inspired by visionary leader’s drive for diversified national economy

Doha, Qatar – 9 October 2017: Thanks to the bold and visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, on the importance of Self Sufficiency – which is one of the top priorities in the state’s strategies – the inaugural Qatar Self Sufficiency Exhibition, a first-of-its kind exhibition, will be held from 1 to 3 April 2018 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
In his speech on July 21, 2017, His Highness said: “We are called upon to open our economy to investments and initiatives so that we produce our own food and medicine, diversify our sources of income, achieve our economic independence… On numerous occasions I have directed our institutions to pursue the pursuit a policy of economic openness and diversification. At this stage, this is no longer a matter of luxury for us, but a binding and inevitable course of action, leaving no room for complacency. This is the responsibility of all of us, government and business community alike.”
The ground-breaking Qatar Self Sufficiency Exhibition 2018, will provide industry heavyweights, production line manufacturers, and decision makers the perfect platform to demonstrate how they are helping to shape the country’s future. It will also bring together the who’s who of the industrial landscape from Qatar and the world under one roof.
Exhibitors spanning the full spectrum of sectors, are expected to join to demonstrate the latest solutions and services to support the country’s progressive diversification strategy, improve production line efficiencies and operations, and address Qatar National Vision 2030.
