THE QATAR NATIONAL VISION 2030 BUILDS A BRIDGE FROM THE PRESENT TO THE FUTURE. IT AIMS TO CONVERT QATAR’S ENERGY-DRIVEN ECONOMY INTO A KNOWLEDGE-BASED ECONOMY.
The Qatar National Vision 2030 rests on four pillars: human development, social development, economic expansion and environmental progress.
Qatar has taken proactive steps to diversify its economy away from a reliance on fossil fuels. The QNV 2030 provides a blueprint for leveraging the country’s dominant reserves of energy towards the expansion of its productive base and long-term diversification. Qatar has set aside USD 130 billion for non-hydrocarbon investments, investing more than USD 15 billion in a new state-of-the-art international airport and USD 25 billion for the construction of high-speed rail networks. While the Qatar Tourism Authority is investing USD 20 billion in developing the tourism industry.
Qatar has been successfully building its credentials and is committed to positioning itself as a destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE). Doha’s rapidly developing inbound, outbound and domestic events and business travel industry have benefited from an integrated business approach, which provides learning, development and networking opportunities for industry professionals. These measures have resulted in global recognition and endorsement of Qatar’s commitment to promote itself as a MICE destination.
The main goal is: To transform Qatar into a knowledge-based economy characterized by innovation; entrepreneurship; excellence in education and healthcare; a world-class infrastructure backbone, a production hub; the efficient delivery of public services; and transparent and accountable government.
Qatar has set its course towards the fulfillment of Vision 2030 with dynamism, maturity and pragmatism.
